Launch of the Matera Tourpass: Otipass Brings Its Expertise to the First CITY PASS of the City of Sassi
Matera – Otipass, a leader in the management of City Cards in Europe, is pleased to announce its participation in the launch of the Matera Tourpass, a CITY PASS that allows visitors to access Matera’s main attractions under advantageous conditions.
The Matera Tourpass (www.tourpass.it) is an initiative led by entrepreneurs and tour guides Giuseppe Colucci and Enzo Montemurro, in collaboration with several local operators. This innovative pass provides access for 24, 48, or 72 hours to a selection of the most iconic cultural sites in the City of Sassi and its surroundings. It is designed to offer tourists an enriching experience while allowing them to save significantly compared to purchasing individual tickets.
An Innovative Digital Solution by Otipass
The Matera Tourpass platform and mobile app are based on Otipass’s technological expertise, marking the first time the company has provided its digital infrastructure for an initiative in Italy. With a presence in more than forty destinations in France, Germany, Finland, and Switzerland, Otipass has issued over one and a half million tourist passes and recorded more than five million transactions in 2024.
"We are delighted to collaborate on the Matera Tourpass project. We have observed the success of similar solutions in several major European destinations, and we are confident that Matera will be able to leverage this technology to enhance its tourism offering," says Yolanda Rousselet, Program Director of Otipass City Pass.
A Diverse and Continuously Expanding Cultural Offering
Visitors can explore prestigious sites such as the Historic Troglodyte House of Vico Solitario, the MUSMA – Museum of Contemporary Sculpture in Matera, the Domenico Ridola National Archaeological Museum, as well as several iconic rock complexes. New partners regularly join the program, ensuring an increasingly comprehensive offering.
The Matera Tourpass is available at the following prices: €29.90 for 24 hours, €34.90 for 48 hours, and €47.90 for 72 hours, with special discounts for young people aged 11 to 25.
A Winning Model for Visitors and the Local Economy
In addition to granting access to top attractions, the Matera Tourpass also offers exclusive discounts at various partner establishments, including hotels, restaurants, and local shops. By simply presenting the pass via their smartphone, visitors can enjoy a range of benefits designed to enhance their experience while supporting the local economy.
